Charles Backus

Director of Texas A&M University Press since 2000, Charles Backus was recently appointed to the newly established Edward R. Campbell '39 Press Director's chair. He was previously director of the presses at Vanderbilt and Syracuse. Holder of a doctorate in Chinese history from Princeton, Dr. Backus' book on medieval China's southwestern frontier (originally published by Cambridge University Press) is now available in an electronic edition at the Texas A&M University Repository, available through the Texas Digital Library.
