Luis Cifuentes

Dr. Luis Cifuentes earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Chemistry from Swarthmore College, an M.S. degree in Marine Studies, and a Ph.D. degree in Oceanography, both from the University of Delaware. He began his career with Texas A&M University in 1988 as an assistant professor of oceanography and proceeded through the ranks to full professor. Beginning in November 2004, Dr. Cifuentes served as Executive Associate Dean and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Geosciences and in July, 2007, assumed the position of Interim Vice Provost for the University.
